Troy D.
Meeks ... Troy D. Meeks is the Superintendent of Honors Academy. He joined Honors in August 1999. Since joining, he has expanded Honors Academy's operations to fifteen campuses and implemented a host of district-wide student and administrative services. Mr. Meeks background includes business accounting and management and as a comptroller of small and medium sized corporations. He has a long history of working with youth from across America as a Youth Minister and classroom teacher. In 1997, he began work with the Texas charter school movement and ultimately co-founded Education Technology Group, the states first consulting firm specializing in the needs of chanter schools, garnering 85% of the charter school market. He specialized in consultation on state funding, education programs for special populations, governance, administrative operation and state reporting. Working closely with charter holders, state legislators, the State Board of Education, and the Texas Education Agency he has been instrumental in setting the direction for the Texas charter movement. He is regularly called on to consult with lawmakers on issues concerning charter schools and general education. Throughout his career, Mr. Meeks has championed the causes impacting children and teens.
