Honors Academy at The Echelon is a public charter school in the state of Texas. The program is fully accredited and is a recognized state enrollment school. The Echelon serves the greater Austin area.
Mission Statement The mission of Honors Academy at The Echelon is to equip all 6 &endash; 12 grade students with the skills necessary for the 21st century. These skills include the ability to read, write, speak, and use information with clarity and precision, as well as the ability to participate responsibly in the world of work and life. We seek to reach and serve a generation of young people in south central Austin who will be expected to enter the work force with technology, communications and cooperation skills. We seek to identify and accept each student at whatever stage or academic level, and work to educate, mentor, and resource them into productive, motivated young men and women. Our goal is to work with struggling students and students that desire accelerated programs.
Educational Program Description The Honors Academy at The Echelon helps students realize their potential by creating a challenging, supportive, and individualized learning plan while demanding high standards of achievement using accredited and recognized curriculum. We provide a streamlined, individualized, self-paced curriculum with most of the course work being completed using the latest and best in educational computer software programs. Teachers at The Echelon provide personalized attention to each student's academic, emotional, vocational, and personal needs.
Students Served The Honors Academy at The Echelon offers a complete junior and senior high program in a personalized setting. Our program is designed to meet the needs of students according to their own educational plan. Not only are we able to meet the needs of students who choose an accelerated learning program, we have also found great success in helping students who are behind in their grade or skill levels. In addition, we serve students who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities, who need more attention and more opportunities to reach their individual potential. Whatever the student's needs or goals, our staff will help them reach and exceed them.
Educational Program Enhancement The Honors Academy at The Echelon recognize that the students of today are not only expected to transfer the core subjects, but must be equipped with other skills as they enter into the work force of a highly technical world of information-based business and services. We seek to put this highly technical world into perspective for each student by actively seeking partnerships with technology-based organizations and through our computer-based curriculum.
