Honors Academy at Excel Academy is an open enrollment public charter school in the state of Texas. The program is fully accredited and is recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
Campus Description Excel Academy is conveniently located at Interstate 30 and University Drive not far from the Fort Worth Zoo. The River Plaza Professional Building houses Honors Academy classes, which are divided into two sessions. One session accommodates students from the surrounding communities, and the other session accommodates students who are receiving treatment at the Excel Center Day Hospital Program.
Campus Mission Statement The mission of Honors Academy at Excel Academy is to advance the educational and emotional potential of students in a self-paced environment. Together students, parents, and teachers will utilize and implement the most suitable learning strategies to achieve success in all levels of the education process.
Students Served The Honors Academy at Excel Academy serves at risk students in grades 6 -12.
Education Program Description The Honors Academy at Excel Academy has at the core of its emphasis a parental concern for the emotional as well as academic needs for each student individually. The teaching environment is self-paced and technology prudent. Each student's potential for advancement in educational and emotional well being is of the highest concern of the staff. Parent-teacher unity is addressed at every possible level.
Enhanced Educational Programs The Honors Academy at Excel Academy is located on the 1st floor of the River Plaza professional building. Excel Director JimmyeLou Cockrell also runs a day hospital and is excited about how an individualized education can impact student success.
